Job Description

We're seeking experienced educators to join our team of Senior Teachers, who play a crucial role in delivering effective lessons that yield measurable outcomes. As part of our academic program, you'll collaborate closely with our Director of Studies to support teachers with planning, delivery, and administrative tasks. Our BSC Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policies ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all learners.

  • Plan and deliver engaging language-focused lessons.
  • Teach a minimum of 15 hours per week.
  • Contribute to 27 hours of academic course support duties/cover as needed.
  • Be the first point of contact for cover duties.
  • Foster a positive learning atmosphere by following our BSC syllabus.
  • Complete weekly planners, attendance sheets, and student reports.
  • Participate in regular observations and receive constructive feedback.
  • Conduct teacher observations with guidance from the DoS.
  • Carry out additional duties as requested by the Centre's DoS.
  • Support colleagues with lesson planning and delivery.
  • Deliver at least one INSETT session.
  • Assist with graduation photos and project showcase days.
  • Collaborate with the academic team and support the summer staff as a whole.
  • Attend and participate in academic meetings and INSETT sessions.
  • Help with placement testing.
  • Attend induction held at the centre.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Comply with our BSC Uniform Policy – BSC t-shirts are provided.
  • Follow our BSC Centre rules and regulations.
  • Set a positive example for others.
Brief Overview

This role requires experience working with young learners, preferably with CELTA certification or equivalent, along with substantial teaching experience. Excellent lesson planning skills, adaptability, and flexibility are essential. You should also possess strong communication and teamwork abilities, as well as a calm and composed demeanor under pressure.
