Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supporting Teaching Assistant to join our team in a KS1 setting. The successful candidate will provide support to the class teacher in delivering high-quality education and will play a key role in the development and well-being of our young learners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Class Teacher: Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons, ensuring that the curriculum is delivered to a high standard.
  • Individual and Small Group Support: Provide individual and small group support to students to enhance their learning, focusing on areas of need and promoting academic progress.
  • Classroom Environment: Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all students, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and understanding.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assist with the assessment of student progress and provide feedback to the class teacher, ensuring that students receive regular and constructive feedback.
  • Special Educational Needs: Support students with special educational needs (SEN) and ensure they have access to the curriculum, promoting inclusion and equality.
  • Classroom Management: Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe and orderly learning environment, promoting a culture of respect and responsibility.
  • Teaching Materials: Prepare and organize teaching materials and resources, ensuring that the classroom is well-resourced and equipped to support student learning.
  • School Events: Participate in school events, trips, and extracurricular activities as required, promoting a sense of community and school spirit.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the class teacher and school as needed, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications and Experience: Relevant qualifications or experience in supporting teaching and learning in a primary school setting, with a strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and the wider school community.
  • Patience and Enthusiasm: Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for working with young children, with a commitment to the safeguarding and well-being of all students.
  • Basic IT Skills: Basic IT skills for supporting learning and administrative tasks, with the ability to use digital tools and resources to enhance student learning.
