Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join S&You as our new Chairperson. As the leader of our organization, you will play a crucial role in overseeing our governance, financial management, and overall administration.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a non-executive role, ideally within a national governing body. They will possess excellent credentials in governance matters at Board or executive level, with a proven ability to lead and work effectively as part of a diverse team.

We are looking for someone with strong integrity, who is a strategic leader, ambitious, engaging, and collaborative. They will be able to listen sensitively to the views of others and respect confidentiality and sensitive situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective leadership of the Board and the affairs of S&You.
  • Ensure the governance of S&You is efficient, effective, and fit-for-purpose.
  • Support the delivery and evolution of S&You's strategic plans.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent planning, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good strategic vision.
  • Ability to receive input and advice and to exercise independent judgement.
  • Diplomacy with good ambassadorial skills.
  • An excellent communicator, both written and verbal with an ability to negotiate and influence.

Remuneration: This position is unpaid. However, S&You will reimburse reasonable expenses, including appropriate travel, subsistence, and accommodation. Based on industry standards, we estimate the value of this role to be around £20,000 per annum.
