About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our client's team for a key consultancy project within the construction and solar industry.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity with the potential for permanent employment after the initial 12-month contract.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will primarily support one of the client's construction projects, taking on a key role in managing health and safety on site.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  1. Inspect and Audit Client Sites: Conduct regular site visits and perform inspections/audits with detailed report completion.
  2. Develop and Implement Safety Procedures: Create and implement Toolbox Talks, and attend site meetings while holding H&S meetings with contractors.
  3. Vet and Manage Subcontractors: Manage the vetting of all subcontractors and lead accident investigations.
  4. Review and Develop Risk Assessments: Review contractors' Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  5. Manage Workplace Transport: Oversee workplace transport management, including highway interfaces.
  6. Provide Training and Support: Provide on-site training to subcontractors and review incident/near-miss data.
  7. Supervise High-Risk Activities: Supervise high-risk activities on site, carry out emergency drills, and monitor permitting requirements.
  8. Conduct Fire Risk Assessments: Conduct fire risk assessments (if qualified and experienced) and other risk assessments as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will hold a NEBOSH General Certificate and have at least 3 years of experience in construction and civils. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong health and safety knowledge, and ability to foster a positive safety culture among clients and their employees are essential.
