Learning Support Teacher

About the Role
We are seeking a Learning Support Teacher to join our Education staff team at the North East Autism Society. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality learning experiences for children and young people with autism, helping them to achieve their individual aspirations.
The ideal candidate will be able to use their own initiative, have a drive and resilience for what is often a demanding role, and be people-centred with good communication and interpersonal skills. While teaching experience is essential, it is not necessary for candidates to have previously worked with autistic individuals.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people with autism. If you are a qualified teacher with experience working with autistic individuals, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- To plan and deliver high-quality learning experiences for children and young people with autism
- To provide individualised support to meet the needs of each student
- To collaborate with colleagues to ensure the highest quality of education and care for all students
- To communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for students
Requirements:
- Qualified teacher or equivalent experience
- Teaching experience, preferably with autistic individuals
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Drive and resilience for a demanding role
