About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance team at McCain Foods in Hastings, New Zealand.

As the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading the maintenance department, ensuring that all maintenance activities are executed with precision, safety, and efficiency. You will manage a team of skilled technicians, implement strategies to enhance equipment reliability and performance, and collaborate with the Project Engineer on capital projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance technicians to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Identify, develop, and oversee preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal equipment and facility performance.
  • Quickly address and resolve maintenance issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous operations.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and resource allocation.
  • Provide input into the development of site projects and ensure safe labor allocation for site projects as required.

About You

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or in a similar leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, machinery, and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize own workload, prioritize outputs, and work within time constraints.
  • Ability to manage budgets and financial aspects of the maintenance department.
