We are seeking an experienced Paediatric Nurse to lead our epilepsy service, providing specialist care and support to children and young people across the Highlands.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, developing nurse-led clinics, and implementing education and outreach initiatives. As a key member of our team, you will also take on strategic direction and implementation of epilepsy nursing service developments and provide line management to one other staff member.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialist epilepsy care to children and young people, ensuring outstanding services are provided.
  • Develop and implement nurse-led clinics, education, support, and advice initiatives.
  • Provide strategic direction and implementation of epilepsy nursing service developments.
  • Line manage one other staff member, including supervision, appraisal, and professional development.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care pathways.

Requirements:

  • Must have vast experience in working with children and young people with epilepsy.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in leading clinical teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with colleagues, patients, and families.
  • Able to travel within the Highlands and access to a car is essential.
  • Degree-qualified in paediatric nursing or related field.

Working Arrangements:

  • Fixed-term or secondment contract until April 2026.
  • Based at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.
  • 37-hour working week (reduced from 40 hours).
  • Temporary period may involve working up to 30 minutes extra per week, paid accordingly.
