We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Supervisor to join our team in the Investment Platforms and SIPP Operators (IPSO) Department at the Financial Conduct Authority. The IPSO department is part of the Consumer Investments (CI) Directorate, and our team's primary focus is to ensure consumer interests are central to the firms within the Peer-to-Peer (P2P) and Crowdfunding portfolios.
Key Responsibilities- Analyzing the business models and strategies of firms to identify conduct risks that could cause harm to consumers and/or markets.
- Developing and delivering supervision and mitigation strategies, setting clear expectations for firms, influencing, persuading, and using formal powers to change conduct behavior to deliver better outcomes for consumers.
- Making sound judgments that solve problems identified through evidence-based analysis, from information and data about firms and wider industry issues.
- Developing constructive working relationships with senior management in the firms we supervise.
- Delivering targeted and effective communications to key stakeholders, internally and externally.
- Experience of financial analysis and dealing with complex information or data.
- Financial services, regulatory, consultancy, audit, or compliance experience.
- Ability to communicate key messages effectively and explain complex issues clearly and concisely.
- Experience building effective working relationships to support the delivery of objectives across a range of diverse stakeholders.
- Capability to use judgment to make logical and timely decisions.
- Experience of using data to spot trends and provide insight.
- Able to effectively manage priorities, which may change at short notice.
- Willingness to learn, develop, and take on new responsibilities.
- Existing knowledge and/or experience of the Peer-to-Peer Lending and/or Crowdfunding sectors.
- An understanding of the FCA's approach to supervision.
