Leadership Role in Journalism Research

We are seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Director of our News and Media Institute at the University of Oxford.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of research or exceptional journalism experience, with expertise in leading teams and developing strategic plans.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead our Institute's research programs, engage with academic and journalistic communities, and contribute to debates about the future of journalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for the Institute, addressing short and long-term research strategy, public events, and financial management.
- Lead the Institute's team in pursuit of strategic goals, while ensuring the custodianship of our values.
- Cultivate partnerships with key stakeholders, including governments, media businesses, and funding institutions.
Requirements:
- A world-leading research track record or exceptional journalism experience.
- Leadership, management, and fundraising skills.
- A proven ability to engage with diverse audiences, including academics, journalists, and policymakers.
Salary: £120,000 - £150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
