The Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford is a world-renowned research centre dedicated to exploring the future of journalism worldwide. As the Director of Journalism Research, you will lead the Institute's team in pursuing its strategic goals and upholding its values.

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a team of researchers and engage with the academic community, journalistic communities, global media businesses, and governments/policy institutions. The new Director will have a significant internal and external profile through working closely with the Steering Committee to review and implement the strategic plan. They will also be responsible for recruitment, oversight of staff, management of the Journalist Fellowship Programme, and development of a research strategy that addresses short and long-term goals.

Candidates should have a world-leading research track record in the practice and development of journalism or experience of practising exceptional journalism and contributing to debates about the issues facing news media in the 21st century. Leadership, management, and fundraising skills are critical as they will lead the Institute's team while being the custodian of its values.

A competitive salary of £80,000-100,000 per annum reflects the Institute's commitment to attracting top talent. The ideal candidate will be able to engage with various stakeholders, curate debates, and contribute to the pursuit of impartial scholarship.
