About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Golf and Turf Machinery Mechanic to join our team at Balmers GM Ltd. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for ensuring the excellent maintenance and repair of our customers' golf and turf machinery.

The ideal candidate will have experience in diagnosing and repairing plant, truck, motorcycles, farm machinery, forklift trucks, or ground-care machinery. Additionally, experience within the green-keeping/groundsman industries and basic maintenance of golf and turf machinery would be beneficial.

You will work on a wide variety of machinery and equipment, including golf and sports turf machinery, commercial mowers, utility vehicles, compact tractors, chippers, and domestic mowing machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on golf and turf machinery.
  • Undertake servicing on machinery as specified.
  • Complete all work to the highest standards in the workshop and on-site.
  • Undertake training to develop skills and knowledge, including new products and services offered by manufacturers.
  • Complete pre-delivery setup and checks on new and used machinery.
  • Mentor apprentices and trainees.
Requirements
  • Experience working with plant, truck, motorcycles, farm machinery, forklift trucks, or ground-care machinery is preferred.
  • Ability to undertake maintenance and repairs using special tools and equipment following approved technical procedures.
  • Experience and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to work as a team or individually.
  • Self-motivated, good communication skills, and a willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends on a rotational basis.
  • Full UK driving license required.
