Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered General Nurse to join our team as a Senior Respiratory Nurse Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to develop their skills in specialist respiratory medicine and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

The successful candidate will have a post-registration critical care qualification and significant experience in an ITU/HDU/respiratory setting. They will be responsible for independently managing a group of patients within the specialty while working as part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering individualised and personalised direct patient care.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £42,000-£60,000 per annum, depending on experience. The NHS offers a comprehensive benefits package, including generous pension schemes and opportunities for professional development.

Main Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of patients with complex respiratory needs, providing specialist advice and guidance to other healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans, taking into account patient preferences and needs.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of education and training programs for junior staff.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Person Specification:

  • RN1/RN2/RN12 or RN Child Registered Nurse on the NMC register.
  • BSC/1st degree (health-related) or equivalent qualification/training and experience.
  • Supervision of junior staff and experience of coordinating a shift.
  • Able to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate specialist care delivered to patients/clients and give relevant advice/information to patients and relatives.
