SEN Learning Support Assistant in Greenwich

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our inclusive school community in Greenwich, London.

Our school is committed to providing a nurturing environment that supports students with diverse learning needs. As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students achieve their academic and social potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Individualized Support: Provide tailored support to students with various learning difficulties, promoting positive relationships and fostering a sense of belonging.
  • IEP Implementation: Assist teachers and the SENCO in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to ensure students receive targeted support.
  • Inclusive Classroom Environment: Help create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages student participation, engagement, and social interaction.
  • Skill Development: Support students in developing essential skills, including communication, self-regulation, and social interactions.
  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents to ensure continuity of support.
  • Professional Development: Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in special educational needs.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with children with special educational needs in a school or educational setting.
  • Clinical Skills: A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build rapport with students and families.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or a related field (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable.
  • Certification: A DBS check is required.
