To work as a member of the Additional Learning Needs Team at Grwp Llandrillo Menai, assessing learners requiring exam access arrangements and working towards various qualifications in Further Education.
This role involves providing person-centred support, cooperating with teaching staff, business support staff, Careers Wales, and external agencies. Some evening and Saturday work may be required, with compensatory time off during the week.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Work with the ALN team to identify learners needing specialist assessment.
2. Contribute to collecting and coordinating evidence for access arrangement applications.
3. Conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments to determine learners' eligibility for Access Arrangements, following JCQ guidance.
4. Serve as a point of contact for access arrangement-related queries and concerns.
5. Utilize college systems to ensure accurate recording and dissemination of assessment information, outcomes, and learner progress.
6. Assess learners for exam access arrangements and complete Form 8s in accordance with JCQ guidance.
7. Liaise with curriculum staff regarding individual learners' exam access arrangement needs.
8. Share assessment outcomes and feedback with learners and teaching staff.
9. Stay up-to-date with current access arrangement regulations and undertake relevant training to maintain practising certificate status.
10. Support the college in assessing learners applying for the Disabled Students Allowance.
11. Collaborate with ALN, Curriculum tutors, and Exams teams to ensure learners' assessment and examination needs are appropriately supported.
12. Advise teaching staff on best practice to support learners with SpLD.
13. Provide specialist support and advice to learners with SpLD.
14. Offer training sessions on the need for and application of access arrangements.
15. Support HR for Grwp Staff referrals.
16. Undertake any other duties as reasonably instructed by your line manager, Assistant Principal, or Principal.
