Job Description:

The SENCO will be responsible for leading and managing the SEND department, ensuring the school's provision is inclusive and effective. This will involve coordinating the identification, assessment, and support for students with SEND, developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and providing guidance and strategies for differentiated learning.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the SEND department, ensuring the school's provision is inclusive and effective.
  • Coordinate the identification, assessment, and support for students with SEND, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and review IEPs and provision maps for students with SEND.
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to provide guidance and strategies for differentiated learning.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a SENCO qualification (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Experience working as a SENCO or in a similar role within an educational setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and external agencies.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
Benefits:

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary, ranging from £35,000 to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. They will also have access to ongoing professional development opportunities, including training on SEND best practices and legislation.
