About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Therapist to join our team at Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust. As a Clinical Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality therapeutic services to adults with complex emotional difficulties and trauma histories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-deliver therapeutic groups with multidisciplinary team colleagues within the day programme
  • Engage with service users in unstructured time, such as lunch breaks and social spaces
  • Manage a small caseload and conduct initial assessments for suitability for the programme
  • Contribute to evolving formulations, multidisciplinary review, and care planning for each service user
  • Co-facilitate the weekly Leavers Group
  • Work alongside the multidisciplinary team to deliver the intensive day therapy programme, informed by Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT)
  • Care management of a small caseload and writing clinical reports
  • Effective internal and external communication

Person Specification

Essential

  • Specialist postgraduate training to Masters level or equivalent in a psychotherapeutic modality, leading to accreditation/registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)
  • Professional background in a mental health discipline to at least first-degree level (e.g., nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, social work, psychiatric medicine)
  • Relevant specialist training in the skills required for the specialty area

Desirable

  • Evidence of further continuing professional development (CPD) training in areas relevant to the client group (MBT, DBT, EMDR therapy models, approaches for specific client groups, legislation)
