About the Role

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated and experienced clinical pharmacist to join our cardiovascular and thoracic care team. As a specialist clinical pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in providing pharmaceutical care to patients with cardiac disease, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist pharmaceutical review of medication for cardiology, cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery patients
  • Work with the multidisciplinary team to advise on medication for CV&T patients to optimize their care
  • Deliver education and training to a wide range of healthcare professionals working within CV&T
  • Contribute to department-wide audit, research, risk management, and clinical governance
  • Develop guidelines to ensure safe prescribing practice

Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy
  • GPhC registration
  • Sound knowledge of a surgical or medical specialty acquired working within a suitable specialty
  • Meets Foundation framework/GLF competencies
  • Audit and evaluative work
  • Sound understanding of healthcare priorities and political agendas
  • Experience of teaching and tutoring
