Job Title: Specialist Clinical Pharmacist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Specialist Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. As a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a key role in providing clinical pharmacy services to patients and healthcare professionals across the trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a pharmacist to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication management, patient education, and research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services to patients and healthcare professionals across the trust
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical pharmacy services
  • Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives
  • Provide education and training to healthcare professionals
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

A Master's degree in PharmacyRegistration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)Sound knowledge of a surgical or medical specialty acquired through working in a suitable specialtyMeets Foundation framework/GLF competenciesAudit and evaluative work experienceA sound understanding of healthcare priorities and political agendasExperience of teaching and tutoringDesirable Qualifications and Experience

We welcome applications from pharmacists with postgraduate diplomas in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience, MRPharmS or equivalent, and those working towards RPS Advanced Core portfolio submission. Experience in medicines information, preparation of prescribing guidelines, and training in leadership and management would be advantageous.
