Electronics Hardware Design and Development Opportunity

OpenSourced is seeking an Electronics Hardware Design and Development Specialist to join our team in Weymouth. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical and electronics hardware for our technical products and related equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and develop electrical and electronics hardware, including circuit boards and electronic assemblies.
  2. Investigate and troubleshoot electronics hardware faults, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime.
  3. Develop and implement test plans for electronics hardware, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
  4. Collaborate with contract electronics manufacturing (CEM) companies for PCB assembly build and testing, ensuring seamless integration and quality control.
  5. Generate engineering documentation and prepare test reports, providing clear and concise information for stakeholders.
  6. Analyze data to identify patterns and recommend alternative strategies, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
  7. Ensure a safe, secure, and legal work environment, adhering to company policies and industry regulations.
  8. Contribute to the development of new products, including manufacturing and testing of electronic assemblies, and support the Engineering Manager as required.
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience in electrical and electronics hardware design, with a strong understanding of circuit boards and electronic assemblies.
  2. Proficiency in soldering and reworking PCBs, including LSI and fine-pitch components, and ability to build small circuits for test purposes.
  3. Familiarity with electronics in a production environment, including ESD precautions, and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
