We're looking for a seasoned engineering leader to take on the challenge of leading our technical team at TQR. As a team leader, you will be responsible for driving daily technical execution, problem-solving, and team development in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role requires strong leadership skills, with a focus on guiding a technical team, providing comprehensive support and guidance to engineers, technicians, and apprentices when resolving equipment breakdowns, completing planned maintenance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

About the Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a technical team to achieve production targets and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Coach and develop team members to enhance their skills and expertise.
  • Manage budgets and resources to optimize equipment maintenance and repair.
Requirements
  • HNC or degree-level education in engineering/mechatronics or a similar field of study.
  • A minimum of 5 years of technical or manufacturing experience required, with several years of experience with complex moulding manufacturing.
  • Experience leading a technical team in a busy manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and encourage effective teamwork activities.
  • Confident independent thinking, with the ability to act quickly in a high-pressure situation.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with safety and ergonomics in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems.

The estimated salary for this role is around £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
