LPN General Surgery Specialist

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in a clinic environment. As an LPN, you will provide support to providers in delivering timely and quality patient healthcare services.

Responsibilities
- Collect patient information and data, provide patient care, communicate with patients and care team members, and perform administrative tasks as delegated by Providers or RNs.
- Administer therapies, including medications, scheduling follow-up visits, and other support unique to a specialty provider.
- Provide patient care pre- and post-encounter or procedure, preventative or other health information, and collaborate with Providers and teams on improving and managing quality goals.
- Room patients, manage patient flow, obtain adequate patient medical information/data, perform rooming, and accurately measure patients' vital signs and other measurement/indicators as necessary and record in medical records.
- Coordinate communication of medical information, confirm information with patients when necessary, and document per practice policy and standards.
- Assist patients in preparing for physician exams, provide psycho-emotional support, assist in collecting, labeling, and processing specimens, and assist physicians with procedures.
- Organize patient flow to enable Physicians to move efficiently from one room to the next.
- Make outbound calls to patients to follow up as directed, which may include notifying patients of test results, and accurately and completely chart information in patient medical records.
- Receive or initiate patient phone calls, answer phones cordially and professionally, and arrange for appropriate appointments or forward to RNs or Providers for review/recommendation.
- Process Physician orders, perform clinical functions within scope of license as ordered by Physicians, respond promptly to patient needs and requests, and review patient charts before visits to ensure that test results, therapy reports, etc., are available.
- Clean, prepare, organize, and restock exam rooms, clean and maintain exam rooms and sterilize instruments as trained, and restock teaching supplies and ensure exam rooms are stocked according to standards and patient needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An Associate's or Vocational degree from a Board of Nursing-approved LPN program.
- Two years of clinic LPN experience preferred.
- A current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Allina in-house training.
- Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below: Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Allina in-house training (within 30 days of hire).
Working Conditions
This role requires light physical activity and may involve lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently.
Salary Range
$62,000 - $72,000 per year.
