Commercial Director Job Description

Northampton Business Directory is seeking an experienced Commercial Director to lead our commercial strategy and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver Commercial Strategy: Develop and execute a commercial strategy that aligns with company objectives and drives business growth.
  2. Ensure Commercial Excellence: Foster a culture of commercial excellence within the organization, ensuring that commercial processes and employees deliver strong customer experience and value-added service delivery.
  3. Identify Commercial Opportunities: Utilize commercial acumen to identify and capitalize on commercial opportunities, working closely with key customer managers to ensure customer-specific approaches are incorporated into operational processes.
  4. Lead Commercial Team: Manage and develop an effective commercial team, ensuring skills development and effective teamwork to achieve growth targets.
  5. Maintain Industry Awareness: Stay up-to-date with industry and accreditation risks and challenges, ensuring that processes and staff can address industry needs and maintain a 'value of certification' perspective.
  6. Monitor Customer Accounts: Continuously monitor customer accounts to ensure that the business meets customer expectations while maintaining growth and profitability.
  7. Drive Business Growth: Motivate the team of Business Development Professionals to achieve growth targets across the client portfolio of services.

Requirements:

  1. Previous commercial experience from a UKAS Certification Body.
  2. Proficient understanding of the role of accreditation, International/National Quality Infrastructure, and how training, marketing, and sales contribute to sustainable commercial success.
  3. Commercial and financial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset.
