Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our team at a good primary school in Chesterfield. The successful candidate will work with pupils who have learning difficulties, behavioural problems, or physical or sensory disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess the individual learning needs of pupils and develop strategies to support their learning.
  • Positively manage challenging behaviour and create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and other professionals who work with the children to ensure a collaborative approach to supporting their needs.
  • Supervise activities and provide support to teachers in planning and delivering bespoke and individualized education to engage children.
  • Work with children in small groups and on a one-to-one basis to provide targeted support and guidance.
