Job Title: Pediatric Speech Language Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Pediatric Speech Language Specialist to join our team at Pulse Healthcare.

This is a full-time or part-time, permanent role based in Chester town centre, with excellent salary and benefits package.

As a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist with Pulse Healthcare, you will work in a special education school with 108 pupils aged 4-19 years with complex autism, learning difficulties and behaviours that challenge.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working as part of a trans-disciplinary team to ensure each pupil's needs are understood, accurately planned for and closely monitored.
  • Advising members of the teaching team on pupils' speech, language and communication development to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
  • Providing direct and indirect therapy for individuals and groups of pupils.
  • Assessing pupils' need for and use of evidence-based alternative/augmentative communication (AAC) including signing, communication books, voice output communication aids, etc.
  • Collaborating and contributing to the development of positive behaviour support plans, working closely with behaviour analysts, the class teacher and other relevant team members.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • HCPC registration.
  • Experience of working with children and young people with autism and complex learning disabilities.
  • Experience supporting AAC use including low or high tech.
