Gloucestershire County Council is a local authority committed to improving the lives of children and families. We are currently recruiting for a Community Social Work Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified social worker to work in a non-case holding role, supporting community practitioners to respond to emerging risk and manage de-escalating risk in the Forest of Dean area.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide vital support to social care teams and the Early Help Partnership, helping to identify and address potential risks to vulnerable children and young people.
  • To work closely with community practitioners to understand risk and harm, promoting clarity where the level of risk is unclear.
  • To contribute to the development and delivery of practitioner training on safeguarding and other aspects, ensuring that staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively support children and families.

Requirements

  • Social Work England registration.
  • A recognised qualification in Social Work.
  • Passing of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme.
  • A full driving licence and willingness to drive.
  • DBS clearance.

Location

The role will be based in the Forest of Dean area, with opportunities to work remotely and flexible working arrangements available.
