Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mental Health Practitioner to join our Stockport Early Intervention Team. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work closely with individuals experiencing first episode psychosis, providing expert care and support to help them achieve their recovery goals.

Main Duties of the Job

As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will be responsible for managing a defined caseload of individuals, working with them to identify and meet their needs, and facilitating their discharge from secondary mental health services. You will also contribute to duty and clinic work, and participate in team development initiatives.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with a degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or Social Work, and current registration with the relevant regulatory body. You will also have substantial experience of relevant post-registration practice, including managing a caseload and working in a multi-disciplinary team setting. A comprehensive understanding of Safeguarding adults procedures and practice, as well as knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act, and Care Act, is essential.

Skills and Abilities

We are seeking a candidate with excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, the ability to manage their own emotions and deal with others in highly stressful situations, and the ability to engage with and provide therapeutic interventions for individuals with complex mental health needs. You will also need to be able to prepare, record, and complete relevant care records and reports to a professional standard.

Work-Related Circumstances

You will need to have the use of a car or access to a means of mobility to travel across the Trust footprint in line with service needs. You will also be required to carry out all duties and responsibilities of the post in accordance with the Trust's Equal Opportunities and Equality and Diversity policies.
