Main Duties of the Job

As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will be responsible for managing a defined caseload of individuals, working with them to identify and meet their needs using outcome measures and a recovery approach. You will also contribute to duty and clinic work, participate in team development issues, and collaborate with other professionals to ensure seamless care.

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or Social Work, and be registered with the relevant regulatory body. You will also require substantial experience of relevant post-registration practice, including managing a caseload and working in a multi-disciplinary team setting.

Key Skills and Abilities

You will need to demonstrate excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to manage your own emotions and deal with others in highly stressful situations. You will also need to be able to engage with and provide therapeutic interventions for individuals with complex mental health needs, and be able to prepare and record relevant care records and reports to a professional standard.

Work-Related Circumstances

You will be required to use a car or have access to a means of mobility to travel across the Trust footprint, and be willing to carry out all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Trust's Equal Opportunities and Equality and Diversity policies.
