About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Coder to support our Trust in providing reliable and accurate clinically coded data for all inpatient and outpatient activity.

To be successful, you must have a good understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as experience working in a hospital and/or office environment. A basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is also essential.

Full training and support will be provided, and we offer a competitive salary package, including an estimated annual salary of £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience.

Main Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include extracting relevant information from case notes/source documents to enable coding of clinical activity. You will critically analyse data from all available sources relevant to the episode of care, investigate and interpret the information to determine the appropriate coding translation using ICD10 (diagnostic codes) and OPCS4 (procedure codes).

You will apply national and international rules and conventions to agreed standards, ensuring that the data is tabulated, aggregated, and sorted for statistical analysis.
