Job Description

As a Drives Engineer, you will perform, test and commission marine drive systems in support of new build, upgrade and service related projects. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with lead Field Service Engineers to ensure the technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of GE drive systems at site locations.
  • Completing installation and wiring modifications to a high standard.
  • Maintenance activities on drive and control equipment.
  • Preparing installation, modification and maintenance reports.
  • Reviewing and understanding project documentation, including instruction manuals, drawings and procedures.
  • Complying with both Company and Customer EHS policies, procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Maintaining personal competence by completing all applicable training in line with company requirements.
  • Coordinating additional opportunities to serve the customer with the customer service team, parts, other FSE's, repair services, sales, and product engineering teams.
  • Performing work on-board vessels within GE / Customer safety guidelines either in shipyards or offshore.
Requirements

We are looking for a committed and professional individual with:

  • Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, from a reputable college or university or equivalent knowledge & experience.
  • Experience with PC/PLC equipment.
  • A recognized Health and Safety training including risk assessment.
  • A willingness to travel to customer sites for extended periods of time within the UK and abroad.
  • A willingness to work for extended hours/overtime when required during peak periods and emergency circumstances.
  • A recognized Health and Safety training including risk assessment.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR).
  • Valid Passport to Safety (PTS) training.
  • Flexible attitude to working pattern is required.
  • Full Clean Driving license.
