Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead our large-scale engineering project in Yorkshire.

About the Role - The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of our engineering project, planning, coordinating, and supervising the onsite construction project to meet specifications, timelines, budgets, and quality standards. This role involves working with architects, engineers, and subcontractors and managing on-site teams to ensure successful project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of Health & Safety across the construction site.
  • Project Management including CDM requirements.
  • Developing and overseeing project plans, schedules, and resources, managing project administration, including all documentation.
  • Tracking project performance using project management software to monitor project progress.
  • Working with architects, engineers, and clients to establish and deliver project goals and specifications.
  • Allocating resources efficiently to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Preparing and managing project budgets, ensuring costs are tracked and controlled.
  • Negotiating contracts and managing supplier costs.
  • Monitoring spending and ensuring the project remains within budget.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Identifying and mitigating potential project risks.
  • Developing contingency plans to address project delays or issues.
  • Troubleshooting on-site problems and providing effective solutions to keep the project on track.
  • Ensuring all work meets the highest quality standards.
  • Conducting site inspections to verify project adherence to specifications.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager.
  • Demonstrable experience of the planning and management of complex engineering projects, including CDM regulations.
  • Project management experience in a manufacturing environment, Prince2 or equivalent.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g. MS Project).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with a strong problem-solving orientation.

The estimated salary for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
