About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Baker to join our team at GAIL's Hitchin - New Bakery Opening. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for leading and motivating our team to deliver high-quality baked goods and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of bakers to ensure efficient production and high-quality products
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu items to drive sales and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and excellent customer service
  • Conduct regular team meetings and provide feedback to ensure team members are meeting their goals and objectives

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Head Baker or Senior Baker in a fast-paced bakery environment
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings and weekends
