Job Information

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Environmental Services Specialist to deliver routine planned and periodic cleaning for one of our clients. The successful candidate will ensure that contract service delivery meets all SLA agreements while adhering to the cleaning schedules.

Main Duties

  • Undertake successfully all required training to deliver the cleaning role.
  • Work within a team and under their own initiative.
  • Adhere to all Mitie Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the designated area to an agreed level of cleanliness in line with the Contract and relevant SLAs, carrying out all daily, weekly, and periodic tasks as directed by the Cleaning Supervisor.
  • Ensure that the service is delivered effectively and efficiently to a high standard.
  • Ensure all equipment is kept clean, well maintained, and in safe working order.
  • Report any maintenance requirements identified during cleaning tasks.
  • Always maintain security – locking doors, following lost property procedures, etc.
  • Have a full knowledge and understanding of the designated cleaning area, including the agreed work specification and time allocated to facilities.
  • Have a full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials, and approved chemicals used by Mitie.
  • Set a good example in terms of dress, behavior, punctuality, and attendance.
  • Ensure all Safeguarding Policies are always adhered to and raise any concerns in line with the Mitie policy.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ensure contractors and external visitors comply with security and health and safety while on school premises.
  • Build positive and productive working relationships with all customers, delivering excellent customer service and seeking ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations.
  • Perform any other related duties which are within the job holder's capability, according to the needs of the business.

  • Cleaning experience is preferred; however, training can be provided.
  • A reliable and hardworking individual with a professional attitude.
  • Ability to work to a schedule and as part of a team.
  • Capable of working to their own initiative where appropriate.
  • Be open and honest.
  • Be self-driven and determined.
  • Strive for continuous improvements in service delivery.

Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum.
