About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Catering Team Leader to join our team at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust. As a key member of our catering department, you will be responsible for supervising staff, ensuring high-quality food service, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage catering staff to ensure excellent customer service and high-quality food production.
  • Implement and maintain food safety and hygiene standards, adhering to relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Manage stock control, inventory, and ordering to optimize resource utilization and minimize waste.
  • Collaborate with the catering management team to develop and implement strategies for improving service quality and efficiency.
  • Provide cover for senior colleagues as required and contribute to the development of the catering team.
Requirements
  • Previous supervisory experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume catering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations, including HACCP and allergens.
  • Experience in implementing food safety controls and stock control.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, communicate clearly, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
