Mental Health Specialist

Job Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our multidisciplinary team as a Mental Health Practitioner. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive screening and triage services to children and young people, and their families, resulting in safe and appropriate clinical decisions and interventions.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide timely and effective triaging of all referrals, adhering to the service specification, pathways, and protocols to support clinical decisions.
- Be the first clinical point of contact for referrers and families, utilizing effective communication skills to assess risk and priority of referrals.
- Ensure sufficient, accurate, and appropriate information is gathered to direct referrals to the most appropriate pathway.
- Undertake priority assessments to determine the needs of children and young people, including whether it is safe for them to return to their home.

Person Specification:
- Significant experience of risk assessment within a mental health or learning disability setting.
- Comprehensive assessment skills.
- Significant experience of working clinically in a mental health and/or learning disability setting, assessing, containing, and managing complex cases in a multi-disciplinary setting.
- Experience of working with people who have a learning disability and/or autistic spectrum disorder.
- Relevant qualifications.
- Registration with the relevant registration body.
