Operations Director Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to join our team at Chase Taylor Recruitment Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the operational capabilities of our client are aligned to business requirements and enable us to respond with agility to market conditions and opportunities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute risk management strategies to systematically identify, assess and mitigate operational risks across the business.
  • Develop strategies to optimise operational processes and reduce costs while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ensure supply chain performance through delivery, capacity, supplier, and inventory management.
  • Govern contract management, supplier performance and relationship management for all supplier agreements reviewing at least on an annual basis.
  • Oversee bi-annual stock takes across the business and the smooth implementation of perpetual inventory.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the logistics team on best practice methodologies and support through business process changes.
  • Review the logistics capabilities in line with the business strategies to develop a roadmap from concept to implementation as we grow the business.
  • Complete a cost to serve analysis for the logistics function.
  • Ensure a safe environment for product assembly execution, and proactively addresses safety issues relating to personnel, visitors, facilities, equipment and test setups.
  • Actively promote and enforce the company safety culture and standards across the Group.
  • Develop & own all elements of Health & Safety across all business units.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in operations management, preferably in a manufacturing or logistics environment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyse complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
