Key Responsibilities:
  • Building and leading a high-performing planning team, motivating and developing their performance.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, generating new business opportunities.
  • Managing client expectations, ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Project managing a mix of planning submissions and appeals, preparing tender responses.
  • Conducting strategic planning research and policy development, assessing development potential.
  • Providing guidance to engineers and architects on drawing production and supplemental planning information.
  • Leading the strategic management input of planning projects, including financial management.
  • Expanding networks, creating relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities.
  • Mentoring team members through RTPI development processes and procedures.
  • Managing, maintaining, and growing the fee pipeline.
Requirements:
  • Chartered membership of The Royal Town Planning Institute or The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
  • At least 7 years' proven planning experience of large-scale projects across various sectors in the private sector.
  • At least 5 years' experience leading and growing a planning team within a planning consultancy environment.
  • A track record of sustainable business generation and client base growth.
  • Seasoned leadership experience, directing and developing a team.
