The Company:

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a Multidiscipline Planning and Environmental Consultancy who are looking for a Planning Director to join their team.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Building and motivating a high-performing planning team, developing and managing their performance to drive business growth.
  • Business Development: Building existing client relationships and generating new business opportunities to expand the company's portfolio.
  • Client Management: Managing client expectations and delivering high-quality services to meet their needs.
  • Project Management: Project managing a mix of planning submissions and appeals, ensuring timely and successful outcomes.
  • Tender Preparation: Preparing tender responses to secure new business opportunities.
  • Strategic Planning: Performing strategic planning research and policy development, including assessments of development potential.
  • Site Inspections: Conducting site inspections and assessing the merits of proposals.
  • Technical Guidance: Providing guidance to engineers and architects on the production of drawings and supplemental planning information.
  • Financial Management: Taking responsibility for the financial management of planning projects.
  • Networking: Expanding networks and creating relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities.
  • Mentorship: Mentoring team members through RTPI development processes and procedures.
  • Business Growth: Managing, maintaining, and growing the fee pipeline to drive business growth.


Requirements:
  • Professional Qualifications: Chartered membership of The Royal Town Planning Institute or The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
  • Experience: At least 7 years' proven planning experience of large-scale planning projects across a range of sectors within the private sector.
  • Leadership Experience: At least 5 years' experience of leading and growing a planning team within a planning consultancy environment.
  • Business Generation: A track record of sustainable business generation and client base growth.
  • Leadership Skills: Seasoned leadership skills with management experience of directing and developing a team.
