Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join our team at Teaching Personnel. The role involves teaching and learning within a specialist learning environment for students aged 6 to 19 with complex medical needs and sensory/physical impairments.

The ideal candidate will have experience in planning and delivering high-quality teaching and learning, cultivating a positive and inclusive learning environment, and developing individualised education plans (IEPs) to support students' unique needs and goals.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated SEN Teacher to make a difference in the lives of students with severe or profound multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), moderate learning difficulties (MLD), and severe learning difficulties (SLD). The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing meaningful and engaging curricula that stretch and challenge learners within their class.
  • Cultivating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Liaising with other professionals, such as therapists and healthcare providers, to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress, assessments, and reports.
  • Participating in physical intervention and personal care routines as required.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • A PGCE, QTS or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
  • Working knowledge of the Teacher Standards and expectations.
  • Knowledge and personal experience of SEN learning, particularly sensory lead curriculums.
  • Positive team working skills and the ability to contribute to our established team.
  • Diligence and accuracy in assessing, reporting, and recording.
  • The ability to lead and direct other adults supporting within the class.
