About the Role

Avara Foods Ltd is a leading food business in the UK, supplying chicken and turkey to major supermarkets and well-known restaurants. We own and manage our entire supply chain, from farms to factory and all the way to the customer door. As a result, we have careers that cover a wide range of functions.

We are seeking a highly competent and motivated Contract Production Manager to join our Agriculture team. This role will be home-based, requiring regular travel to farms and offices in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and Develop Relationships with contract broiler producers to ensure the highest levels of animal welfare, food safety, and environmental safety.
  • Collaborate with Farm Owners and Staff to ensure the integrity of Avara's business and provide technical support where required.
  • Provide Technical Support to farms, including commentary, insight, and data on market trends and challenges to further the continuous improvement and overall performance of production areas.
Requirements
  • Sound Knowledge of poultry farming, including animal welfare standards, poultry housing, equipment, feed, ventilation, and bird health.
  • Ability to Adapt management style to influence and motivate contract growers.
  • Commercial Understanding of the impact of actions on production and budgets.
  • Previous Management Experience and a commitment to development.
