We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Peterborough. As a key member of our commercial management team, you will be responsible for managing a team of multi-discipline contractors and supply chain partners to deliver commercial excellence on one of the largest infrastructure projects in the UK.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage commercial risks and opportunities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and achieving the appropriate commercial result for projects.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the supply chain and clients, negotiating final accounts and monitoring project expenditure against budget.
  • Develop and coordinate procurement schedules, complete measurements and valuations of work executed, and monitor project expenditure against budget.
  • Liaise with clients on commercial issues, including agreement of variations, claims, and additional payments.
  • Identify legitimate contractual claim situations and prepare suitable documentation to clients.
  • Lead and support a team of Surveyors, including people management interventions such as performance management, individual focus reviews, and continuous professional development.
Requirements
  • Experience in pre- and post-contract commercial management roles working on major projects.
  • Experience administering NEC forms of contract.
  • Degree or demonstrable suitable commercial management experience.
  • Strong understanding of modern Civil Engineering techniques, plant, and equipment, and an appreciation of logistical needs/issues.
  • Strong IT skills and full manual UK driving license.
