Senior Quantity Surveyor - UK Civil Engineering

A leading Civil Engineering, Tier 1, Main Contractor is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a permanent position near Peterborough for a large Infrastructure project. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to gain experience working on a prestigious project supporting the project leaders in generating a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes, capturing and sharing knowledge across the project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the commercial compliance of current contracts, protecting the position of the company;
  • Report to the Commercial Manager about the subcontract status;
  • Assist senior staff in pricing variations – this will not just be mechanical and electrical scope;
  • Support the Commercial and Contract Managers with monthly project cost reports and progress reports;
  • Provide provision, when required, to the rest of the team on managing other subcontract lifecycles, participating in procurement, tendering, contract administration, variations and work packages management;
  • Preparation of monthly financial statement of anticipated Final Account detailing status of variations (budget, submitted, agreed), in conjunction with project management;
  • Assist with monthly work in progress reports in conjunction with project manager;
  • Being fully aware of and actively complying with company policies and procedures relevant to your own responsibilities and to corporate policies and procedures including equality, sustainability and the environment, health and safety and data protection.
  • Min 6 years Experience in heavy civil engineering projects;
  • Must have previous NEC contract experience;
  • Confident and comfortable working on projects exceeding £10m+ in value.
