About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to join our Engineering team at NPL. Reporting to the Principal Engineer, you will play a critical part in advancing our research and development capabilities.

In this hybrid role, you will split your time between working on-site in Teddington and remotely, with a flexible and part-time working arrangement available to accommodate your needs.

As a Senior Electronics Engineer, you will provide expert advice on instrumentation and automation systems design, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards. Your work will have a significant impact on our business and the UK as a whole.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and capture customer requirements
  • Design automation, instrumentation, and safety systems and products
  • Transfer requirements into designs and specifications
  • Install, test, troubleshoot, and commission automation systems
  • SOURCE AND TEST INSTRUMENTATION TO PROVE SUITABILITY FOR APPLICATION
  • Prepare design risk assessments
  • Issue electrical wiring and interconnection drawings using CAD
  • Manage and maintain system documentation
  • Check designs and documentation for correctness and compliance with standards
  • Work with suitable suppliers of equipment, services, and materials
