About the RoleWe are looking for a registered Social Worker with significant post-qualification management experience to provide leadership to Independent Reviewing Officers and Child Protection Chairs. As Head of Independent Safeguarding and Reviewing Services, you will be responsible for delivering effective challenge and scrutiny across the children's safeguarding system, ensuring that children and young people who are Looked After or in Need of Protection are appropriately safeguarded and have quality care planning.
You will also provide line management, operational direction, and leadership to Service Managers who manage the staff responsible for the delivery of Independent Statutory Services, as well as line managing the Local Authority Designated Officers.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Independent Safeguarding and Reviewing Services to deliver effective challenge and scrutiny across the children's safeguarding system.
- Provide leadership to Independent Reviewing Officers and Child Protection Chairs to ensure that children and young people are appropriately safeguarded.
- Line manage Service Managers who manage the staff responsible for the delivery of Independent Statutory Services.
- Line manage the Local Authority Designated Officers to ensure systems are in place to review and ensure children are safeguarded.
