Leadership and Innovation Director Children

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and ambitious leader to join our Executive and Leadership Team as our Leadership and Innovation Director Children. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality services to children and young people in our care, while driving innovation and change across the sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to our care services, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to improve outcomes for children and young people, working closely with our therapeutic team and other stakeholders.
- Set and monitor operational targets and Key Performance Indicators, ensuring we meet our objectives and exceed expectations.
- Lead our services in achieving OFSTED "Good" or "Outstanding" grading, driving excellence across our residential services, fostering agency, and services for disabled children and their families.
- Contribute to the oversight, development, and implementation of departmental financial plans and budgets, ensuring we manage our resources effectively.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, ethical, and social requirements, maintaining the highest standards of governance and risk management.
- Build and maintain impactful relationships with commissioners, stakeholders, and other key partners, promoting our services and achieving our goals.
- Oversee staffing needs, ensuring we have the right people in place to deliver our vision and objectives.
- Develop and implement systems to predict, mitigate, avoid, and manage risk, ensuring we maintain a safe and supportive environment for our young people and staff.
About You
We are looking for a leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality services to children and young people, with a strong track record of innovation and change. You will have a proven ability to lead and manage high-performing teams, develop and implement effective strategies, and drive excellence across our services.
Requirements
- A leadership and management qualification at Level 7 or higher.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience at a senior management level in a care services environment.
- Experience of delivering large-scale and/or controversial change projects, with a strong track record of success.
- Ability to present complex reports and updates to diverse audiences, with a strong focus on communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of the childcare and voluntary sector, including care standards, Ofsted, and residential childcare.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a car for work purposes.
