Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Pitch Manager to join our established Business Development team at Slaughter and May. The successful candidate will work closely with partners, associates, and other members of the Business Services team to deliver high-quality pitch responses and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Project manage a portfolio of pitches simultaneously, ensuring timely and effective delivery of commercial pitch responses.
- Conduct thorough client and sector research, competitor analysis, and market intelligence to inform pitch strategies.
- Draft high-quality proposal responses that reflect agreed key messages and showcase the firm's expertise.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain standard content and templates, ensuring consistency and best practice.
- Support the development of the firm's approach to pitching through driving forward key projects and initiatives.
- Work closely with the Head of Pitching to train and develop the skills of the Pitch Team.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in pitching within a law firm environment, particularly in leading on panel pitch processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write persuasively in clear, concise English.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of the legal market and clients' key issues.
- Confident, assertive, flexible, and resilient, with the ability to challenge and coach partners.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid work environment, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
