Job Title:

Doctoral Research Officer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive individual to join our team as a Doctoral Research Officer. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues from the Doctoral College Office, the School's Associate Dean for Research and Innovation, and the Director of Doctoral Programmes to deliver excellent customer service and manage the day-to-day administration of the School's provision of postgraduate research/PhDs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the administration of postgraduate research/PhDs, including PGR recruitment, administration, and events.
  • Work closely with the doctoral researcher and academic community to identify issues, proactively find solutions, and improve lines of communication.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to students, staff, and external partners.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including academics, researchers, and administrative staff.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to postgraduate research.
Requirements:
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment, ideally within a Higher Education setting.
  • Excellent communication, multi-tasking, and organisational skills.
  • Strong IT and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to work dynamically and proactively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Working Arrangements:

The postholder will work dynamically, with 60% of the week spent in our office on the Loughborough campus. They will work closely with our doctoral researcher and academic community to identify issues, proactively find solutions, and improve lines of communication.
