The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to play a key role in the management of infrastructure assets across the Falkirk area. As an Infrastructure Manager, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive service for the maintenance and management of over 400 bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and footbridges within the Falkirk Council boundary.

You will carry out feasibility studies, design, contract preparation, and site supervision of infrastructure schemes, including bridges and structures. You will also liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards.

A key part of this role will be to ensure that all works are carried out to the Capital and Revenue budgets, and that building standards submissions are checked from a structural perspective. In addition to your technical skills, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including councillors, officers, and members of the public. You will also need to be IT literate and have good organisational and presentation skills.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, ambitious, and a keen mentor, with experience of current health and safety regulations. You will need to be flexible, innovative, and reactive to public demands and pressures, with the ability to communicate directly with members and public enquiries.

Benefits of the role include:

  • A competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • Flexible working arrangements, including flexi-time and hybrid working.
  • Development programmes for career and professional development, including working alongside term commission partners.
  • Local Authority pension scheme.
  • 27 days annual leave, increasing each year, plus 8 public holidays.
  • Access to a benefits portal with a range of local and national businesses, including cycle-to-work and other benefits.
