Asset Control Coordinator

With a 12-month fixed contract, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Asset Control Coordinator to join our team in Birmingham. As an integral part of our operations, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining seamless inventory control, identifying improvement opportunities, and working collaboratively with stakeholders.
About the RoleThe primary objective of this position is to manage and prioritize various projects to achieve significant cost savings in annual Stores expenditures. You will play a crucial role in streamlining our internal processes, implementing new inventory management systems, and negotiating with suppliers to reduce waste and costs.
Key Responsibilities:- Process Improvement: Compare our Stores Department internal processes with industry best practices and implement process improvements for all Stores-related activities.
- Data Analysis: Continuously analyze stores data to propose cost-saving projects, such as implementing new inventory management systems, managing minimum and maximum reports, and streamlining computerized systems.
- Supplier Management: Negotiate with suppliers using various techniques, including individual meetings, e-auctions, and supplier summits, and manage and benchmark existing suppliers to identify possible alternative products or sources of supply.
- Project Updates: Provide regular project updates to the Management Team and Procurement Manager.
- Cost Savings: Work on cost-saving initiatives and manage the savings database to record all savings achieved.
- Administrative Duties: Perform general administrative duties associated with the role, including setting up NDAs, ensuring all sourcing exercises comply with SOPs, and assisting different teams in resolving finance and requisition queries.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A degree in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field; ideally, candidates possess CIPS or CSWM qualifications.
- Experience in purchasing within a manufacturing background.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Power BI, and Pivot Tables.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Proven decision-making and project management experience, including implementing new processes.
- Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work and think in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
