About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Product Analyst to join our Product Analytics & Experimentation Team at Expedia Group. As a Data Scientist II, you will play a critical role in supporting business decisions throughout the product development lifecycle, improving the user experience for millions of travelers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply your knowledge of Python, R, or other major ML programming languages to drive business outcomes.

  • Write efficient and accurate code that enables seamless data pipeline translation.

  • Conduct hypothesis testing, design, and analyze complex A/B tests to inform business decisions.

  • Frame business challenges as analytics problems and develop concrete analytical tasks to address them.

  • Pick analytically valid approaches that balance level of effort with business objectives.

  • Communicate complex ideas across various levels of the organization, tailoring your messaging to the audience.

  • Manage stakeholders through frequent communication, expectation management, meeting deadlines, and backlog prioritization.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in data science and analytics, preferably in the ecommerce industry, with a Bachelor's in Mathematics, Science, Statistics, or a related technical field.

  • Experience with large datasets and proficiency in SQL and another programming language (e.g., R, Python).

  • Experience and/or understanding of AB testing methodologies and familiarity with data exploration and visualization tools like Tableau.

  • Strong domain knowledge, business acumen, and critical reasoning skills.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present business value analysis concisely and clearly, and an understanding of stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to perform in a high-pressure, dynamic environment and be comfortable with a high level of ambiguity.

  • Curiosity, passion for making an impact, a can-do attitude, and strong attention to detail.
