Technical Game Designer

Freejam is seeking a highly skilled Technical Game Designer to join our team working on Robocraft 2. The ideal candidate will have experience in Unity and be able to rapidly design, prototype, and implement mechanics and concepts.

Responsibilities:
  • Work independently and collaboratively with the team to ideate and create PVE experiences using our internal systems.
  • Create prototypes independently and in collaboration with other designers.
  • Clearly articulate prototypes, design decisions, and concepts to internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to strategic decisions, working with the design and product teams.
  • Align and collaborate with multiple disciplines to communicate the vision of gameplay features.
Requirements:
  • Has worked on at least 2 commercially shipped games from concept to release.
  • Has experience using scripting tools such as Blueprint or Unity Visual Scripting.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team on the ideation, prototyping, and polish of PVE experiences.
  • Comfortable working with coders to extend our tools and engine functionality.
  • Able to create clean and reusable visual scripting elements.
  • Has knowledge of a wide variety of online PVE games and systems and how and why they work.
  • Exhibits excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Analyzes playtests.
Preferred:
  • Experience with UGC systems.
  • Experience in F2P.
  • Experience with enemy design and behavior trees.
  • Experience with coding in Unity and C#.
  • Experience utilizing research and data to drive strategy and decision making.
  • Experience developing and working in a multiplayer live service environment.
